Bubba's New Ride

After many a trip down to the park and around the block a few times with the umbrella stroller trying to fold up while Bubba's in it, we took a fun trip to Babies R Us. I had a coupon and some time to kill while people strolled through our home, so I figured "let's see what they got".

I talked to a person in strollers when I got there, intending to purchase another umbrella stroller, 'cause I figured maybe I just got a really cheap one(Which I actually did, I got it for $5 at HEB one day) that wasn't of great quality. But, the nice sales guy points out to me on the different styles of U strollers, that they are only rated to 30lbs! No wonder my poor Bubba was risking being folded on a daily basis. He has been too heavy for one since his 12 month checkup!

Thankfully he also pointed out many "full-size" strollers that still weren't as big as a travel system stroller, but were rated to a much more comfy 45-50 lbs. Bella could even ride in it! Bella and I picked this one by Jeep. She liked it because it "looked pretty" and I liked it because of it's thin profile with the one front wheel that can lock in position, and the tires are inflatable so it's a softer ride/push.

And the bonus ... we get to the checkout and are finishing up paying for it and Bella exclaims "Look it comes with an ipod!". It doesn't really, but the picture on the box was next to the explanation that it has speakers and a jack to plug in your music player. :) Yay! I get music for both of us when we stroll!

All in all a great purchase. Bubba loves it, Bella thinks it's cool, and it's really lightweight and easy for this preggo mommy to maneuver in and out of the van.

Bubba's 18month Checkup

Yes, he's still a big boy. :)

At 33 and 5/8 inches long, and 33 pounds in weight, he measures over 95% for an 18 month old, just above average for a two year old, and on the 5% line for a 3 year old. So, I guess I should stop being surprised when people think he's three?

He's a big boy. :) And healthy as a horse!

Our little Cowgirl

Here's Bella all dressed and ready for Rodeo Day at school. :) BTW, the 29th is also "Dress Western" day in Austin. lol ... crazy.

18 months?

Well, he was born on the last day of August(31st) so the last day of the month should be his "monthday" right? Insurance says it's the 1st of the next month for months with only 30 days, but still consider the 31st of a month to count. So this month, according to them he will be 18months on March 2nd, but he will be 19 months on March 31st! Silly people.

Anyways, here's Bubba!

No vital stats, his doc's appointment is on the 4th, but just a few new things since last big "monthday".

1. His newest and perhaps most surprising word yet, "Now". He says this whenever he wants to be picked up. :)
2. He is obviously working on his Bs. He has learned "ball", "ba-pa"(back pack), and "Bella" this month.
3. He is out of 2T pants and into 3T, still in 2T shirts, though they are just starting to get a little short.
4. HE CLIMBS ANYTHING! People, furniture, laundry piles, he tried to climb the grocery bags when I left some on the floor for a second after bringing them in.
5. He has actually learned how to say "please" in sign language, adding that to "milk", "more", "thank you", and "all done".

This t-shirt just says it all about Bubba. Under the sippy cup it says "half full". He is the most positive, happy, easygoing, content little guy. Just a complete joy to have around. The only time he cries is when he is super-tired, super-hungry, or super-yucky in the pants. Usually he just raises his hands to you and says "now" whenever he needs something.
